Don Saladino Health & Fitness Large Scale Website Migration

Don Saladino is a globally recognized performance coach and fitness entrepreneur who has spent decades working with professional athletes, executives, and high performers around the world. His business spans in-person training, digital programs, long-form educational content, and a highly engaged global community—making his website a critical hub for both content and commerce.

This project began as a large-scale migration of Don’s website from Squarespace 7.0 to Squarespace 7.1, involving approximately 150 pages. The goal was to modernize the site while improving mobile performance, streamlining layouts across devices, and maintaining a backend that Don and his team could easily manage. A key requirement was minimizing custom code so the site could remain flexible and fully editable without technical expertise.

Given the size and complexity of the site, the work required a thoughtful rebuild rather than a direct transfer. All program pages were recreated in Squarespace 7.1 with consistent structure, improved hierarchy, and usability with mobile-first layouts. Existing content, archives, and galleries were preserved, while navigation and page flow were refined to make a large site feel more intuitive and easier to navigate. We also built a new, searchable content library to house Don’s Articles and Podcast content.

Throughout the project, usability was a priority for visitors and the internal team who manages the website. The site was intentionally built using native Squarespace tools wherever possible, with custom code used sparingly and only when it clearly supported performance or user experience. URL structure and redirects were handled carefully to maintain search visibility and ensure a seamless transition.

The engagement later expanded to include additional strategic builds, including the creation of a dedicated Challenge Community page for a year-long fitness program. This page was designed to clearly communicate program structure, support quarterly enrollment, and emphasize exclusive access to Don through an online coaching community.

The result is a scalable, mobile-optimized website that supports evolving programs, ongoing content creation, and long-term growth—while remaining simple, flexible, and easy to manage behind the scenes. I worked with Mel, Don’s wife and business partner, on this. She is a savvy, brilliant, thoughtful businesswoman and a pleasure to work with!

“Working with Jackie was an excellent experience from start to finish. She brought an incredibly informed perspective on SEO and, just as importantly, a fresh set of eyes on how a consumer actually experiences our site. Which was no small task with well over 100 pages.

Jackie guided us through the Squarespace 7.0 to 7.1 conversion with a clear timeline, and she delivered everything outlined in her contract (and then some). Her process was organized and collaborative, which made the project feel manageable.

I highly recommend Jackie and will continue working with her on an hourly basis as new projects arise.” - Mel
